The batik I have listed in my gallery was done with brushes in the hot wax. I lacked a way to make finely controlled lines with the brushes, as well as the wax cooling too soon. I ordered what I thought at the time was a great deal- 4 Indonesian style batik tools of varying line size for 6 bucks.

Sigh. No go. Overall, the metal reservoirs on them keep the wax hot, but don't help me control the flow of wax. I'd have to know the movement I want ahead of time, and just keep moving till it was empty.

I found another tool listed on the Dick Blick site, that's supposed to allow for control, but it's $33.95, so it'll wait till another paycheck or client appointment.
